Home, home on the range

One of my favorite animals native to North America is the prairie dog. These little burrowing rodents are found all over the grassland regions of Mexico, US, and Canada. During my recent trips to Colorado, I fell in love with the little black-tailed variety scurrying in and out of their burrows, barking to warn their neighbors of circling hawks and curious humans (like me).

Here are my first cartoons of the little dogs. I am sure they will end up in a Lil’ Girl Book eventually.
